Will My Subsidy Actually Arrive? What's Guaranteed vs What Depends on You

This is a fair and important question, because "government subsidy" can sound abstract or uncertain if you've never gone through a scheme-based process before. The honest answer separates cleanly into what's fixed by policy and what depends on how the process is executed.

What's guaranteed: the subsidy amount itself — up to Rs 1,08,000 combined between the Central PM Suryaghar scheme and the UP state UPNEDA scheme, for a compliant 3kW-and-above system — is fixed by published government policy. It is not a number a vendor can negotiate, inflate, or withhold at their discretion once your installation meets the qualifying criteria. This is a structural entitlement under the scheme, not a marketing promise from any individual company, including Sundance.

What depends on compliance: the subsidy is conditional on installing DCR-compliant, ALMM-listed components (covered in detail in topics 3 and 13) — a non-DCR system, regardless of quality, simply does not qualify, full stop. It also depends on accurate registration through the official portal, correct bank account and KYC details being submitted, and the installation passing DISCOM inspection and net-metering commissioning. None of these are unusual or onerous requirements, but each is a real, necessary step, not a formality that can be skipped.

What depends on the DISCOM's own process: once your installation is complete and compliant, the DISCOM verifies the system and processes disbursement into your registered bank account. In the Noida and Ghaziabad region under PVVNL, this disbursement window typically runs around 22 to 28 days from the point all conditions are met — this is a reasonably fast timeline compared to many other regions, and it's a specific, checkable claim rather than a vague assurance.

Where Sundance's role fits into this: we manage the entire filing and documentation process on your behalf, including ensuring component compliance and submitting accurate registration details — the parts of this process that are genuinely within a vendor's control. What we do not control, and would be dishonest to claim we control, is the DISCOM's internal processing timeline once a correct and complete application has been submitted. Our commitment is that nothing on our end — documentation errors, component non-compliance, delayed commissioning — ever becomes the reason your subsidy is delayed.
